The representation of the Architectural Site produced by the “Text Collector”, aims to represent an immersive and multi-disciplinary exploration of North Queensferry, focused on the Text and Signage that define the historical and physical landscape.
Drawing is composed of a range of materials and techniques that go beyond pen and pencil; Photographs, Vinyl cutting, Printing, Projection. These elements are layered to reflect the complex relationship between text and site. emphasising contrast between history and significance of site.
This body of work explores everyday signage and grit of the site. An archive of the past event of investigation. A collation of text, symbol, signage - facing them in a dynamic, spatial context in a mixed media of print, installation and text.
It seeks to reveal traces of human activity embedded in the site - faded ghost sides, the erosion of streets.
“Findings” is a part of an ongoing project exploring cities through an architectural lens separate to built form.
